Air Force Pilot Training: Possibilities

Header

The possibilities are almost endless...almost. At this stage you will get your assignment and go on to more training before you go operational. There are some aircraft that you can not go directly to after pilot training, like the B-2 or U-2. Also, you can be picked up for a First Assignment Instructor Pilot (FAIP) slot which allows you to stay on and become an instructor, like me. If you would like to know more about how to go down the"Fighter Pilot Road", please look into this website by Capt Krueger.
There are just under 50 aircraft in the Air Force inventory. Information on any of the below aircraft can found here, where the Air Force has produced multiple fact sheets for each airframe. Also, you may want to read this article on the way the Air Force is shifting gears. It is interesting since with all these new budget changes, ceratin airframes may no longer exist in the near future.
